What are we looking for?

• Your main responsibility will be to develop and maintain an automation platform used to build, deploy and manage Linux systems on physical hardware at scale.
• We are not looking for a traditional Linux Administrator or Data Centre Operator, but rather someone who can code, automate, build images and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

What will your responsibilities be?

• Advanced Python development on Linux.
• Automation using Ansible and Shell scripting.
• Development and maintenance of Jenkins pipelines.
• Use of GitLab for source code management, branching, merge requests and version control.
• Creation and maintenance of openSUSE/SLES images.
• Creation and management of RPM packages.
• Bare-metal provisioning using PXE/iPXE, DHCP, TFTP and HTTP.
• Automation of unattended and Zero-Touch Linux installations.
• Management of repositories, mirrors and artefacts.
• Release engineering across DEV, UAT and Production environments.
• Rollback and recovery automation.
• Troubleshooting of pipelines, images, drivers and deployment processes.

Experience

• 8 to 10 years’ experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or Linux automation.
• Proven experience writing Python code used in production environments.
• Hands-on experience building Jenkins pipelines, rather than simply running them.
• Hands-on experience deploying Linux images to physical hardware using Zero-Touch provisioning.

Language

• B2 or C1 level of English.
